The SCCL Premier Division team of the year was finalised and announced on Wednesday 23/10/26 - The team can be viewed here
However, we did not name the SCCL Premier Division Player of the year
This year it goes to Shabbir Khan of Whitchurch CC 1st XI.
Our Awards Sub Committee Chairman, Matt Porter and Premier Division Roundup Writer, got together and went through our named 11, and they both felt that Shabbir was the true standout player of the team!
Matt Porter said "Shabbir truly has been outstanding this year, he has taken 53 wickets at a mere 12.25 in our Premier Division this year, his next nearest bowler was at 44 wickets, so it just shows how much further ahead he was. After consultation with our roving reporter and Premier Division Guru, Jamie Dowley, he was the obvious choice for us both."
Shabbir will pick up his award at the SCCL AGM on Tuesday 24/11/26.
Matt went onto say "The SCCL Awards Sub Committee are meeting on Tuesday 6/10/26, we will sort all the divisional teams of the year, the players of the divisions and the individual awards. These will all then be published over the next few weeks on our website and social media platforms."
