The SCCL Awards Sub Committee have met and have decided the SCCL August 2026 Performance of the month.
This month it goes to Sam Baugh of Bridgnorth CC (pictured bowling).
Sam was playing for the 1st XI in Division 1, where on Saturday the 8th of August, against Montgomery 1st XI, he scored a magnificent 70* from 28 balls (3 x 4s and 7 x6s) to help his side post 294/5 declared from 47 overs.
Sam really put in a huge effort with the ball, where he was unplayable, taking an equally impressive 8/18 from 10.1 overs, helping his side to a 231 run win!

SCCL Awards Sub Committee Chair, Matt Porter, stated "Sam's strike rate of 250 with the bat was simply amazing, then he goes and gets 8 for with the ball, a truly outstanding individual effort"
The other nominees included
James Harrap of Alberbury 3rd XI (Sunday Division 3) - 201* albeit in a losing cause
Christopher Gask of Hodnet 1st XI (Division 5) - 161
Sam will receive his trophy in the next few weeks.
