As mentioned at the 2025 AGM, the SCCL are on the search for the following - League Administrator
The role includes being involved as a member of the League Executive Committee and has a primary responsibility for the administrative management and coordination of the league and all participating member clubs. The role will require a blended approach of organisation, official communication, and digital skills.
There is no defined time involvement for the role however it will require more significant time and effort during the main summer months of the cricket season, anticipated to be between two to three days per/week (April to September).
Therefore, the General Manager must be available for completing tasks and responding to any queries or requirements throughout the summer months of the cricket season and most specifically on Saturdays where support of the results
service is required. During off season time requirements are reduced significantly and are flexible.
Key responsibilities:
-Overseeing and compliance of league Rules and ensuring the regulations are fit for purpose with regular reviews as required
-The application of all league, club and player administrative regulations including penalties stated as automatic in regulations
-Main point of contact for all club and match enquiries
-Information distribution (including all official letters on behalf of the league)
-Legislation compliance including all ECB requirements and any legislative issues or policies, including for instance GDPR
-Membership Supervision, ensure clubs keep their contacts and playing facility records up to date.
-Supporting the Management Committee with all playing regulations including their development and implementation
Website and Digital activities - Responsibilities/Tasks
-To liaise with the web site Manager – to develop the site and provide information as necessary
-Adding and maintaining news items, any required documents and league notifications on the league web sites
-Collation and production of match results, including ensuring result entry onto the web site is available promptly post the scheduled end time of any game
-Coordination of all Play-Cricket integration
-Maintenance of League tables; (including application of penalty points)
Collation and production of Umpires and Ground Standards marks
Additional tasks
-Providing support to sub committees, to arrange meetings, agendas, minutes including attending where possible.
-Liaise with Shropshire Cricket Board to provide reports as required
-Liaison with subcommittee chairs to support with any required administrative work as necessary.
-To organise ball order requirements and place orders on manufacturers or ensure that the clubs order directly.
-Organise: pre-season distribution of cricket balls and any other items (if required)
-To oversee all league finance administration in conjunction with the Chairman & Treasurer including the administration of invoices to clubs
-Management of players registrations
-Press liaison
The role is remunerated with the payment of a fixed monthly fee.
